I have been wanting to hike The Holy Jim Trail for quite some time. It was the perfect day to go. One of our first warm days in a couple of weeks.
The turn off is on the left immediately after you cross Trabuco Creek.
The road all the way back to the beginning of the trail is dirt.
Tip- Do not wash your car before you go.
Once you get to the parking area, this sign points you in the direction to go. We thought this was the beginning of the trail. Nope.
It was a bit of a hike to the trailhead.
We made it.
My daughter Niki came along with me.
She isn't a big nature lover. Anything that flies makes her jump.
It was quite entertaining watching her dance her way through most of the trail.
At least she stood still long enough to take my picture. I'm not so great with self portraits.
The trail was pretty busy. We came upon a group of people at a spot where you had to cross a creek using rocks.
One guy carrying a child walked right into the water knelt down and came up with a salamander. One of the girls with him let me take a picture of it.
Once we got to this sign, it took us about 15 more minutes to reach the falls.
There it is
There wasn't much water. It had been a little more than a month since we had seen rain.
Niki was disappointed, to say the least. She's quite a funny girl. Kept me laughing the whole hike.
It was so pretty.
We had a great time together.
